Browsers are getting faster and faster and the array of features and extensions in the major ones are bewildering. Two of my favourite sites have been talking about the great new Opera 10.5.
The problem with Opera however is that I can’t sensibly import my tens of passwords into it, as far as I know, without doing them one by one. I want to use Opera as it looks nicer and feels more grown up and geekier somehow.
That leaves me with Chrome and Firefox.
Chrome is not yet extendable enough… No Noscript for example.
Firefox is too bloated and I don’t like the interface very much. This led me to start trimming and modding my Firefox install so that it resembled Chrome.
As I uninstalled unused extensions things sped up a little and load times got better. Eventually I came across the extension Omnibar. Omnibar essentially copies Chrome’s Omnibar and gives you Google search results as you type in the address bar. I almost expected it to be not as good but it is more or less the same as the version it copied.
Having Chrome’s looks and killer feature has kept me using Firefox.
This has settled it… for now.
