Error 25099. Unzipping Core Files Failed.
I’ve been having problems updating Java for a few weeks now. I kept getting the same Java Error 25099. So I reluctantly decided to investigate before my Java install got too old.
After looking at Java.com’s official advice and a couple of forums a complete uninstall purge of Java followed by a fresh install looks like the solution.
- Firstly I would recommend creating a system restore point.
- Secondly I used Revo uninstaller free to uninstall Java and then look for leftover Java files. This it did whilst removing a few old registry entries.
- Then I used JavaRA to uninstall any old versions of Java that it could find which it did.
- I then did a search in my c: drive for Java and deleted the folder C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\
Whew.
- Finally I got the latest manual install of Java.
This installed with no problems…
It’s a good idea to use the latest version of any program as they are more secure.
Hope this works for you..
