Google norton

After googling to uninstall something I can’t even remember about the other day I found that google autosuggest had given the picture above…

This comes as no surprise to me after having removed it myself on several computers and installed better free alternates – although I must add NIS 2009 looks much better than previous bloated versions. This made me set out to find uninstallers for av’s so I could bunch them together and write a post about it.

I then found that Appremover by OPSWAT had recently been released. This app allows you to “thoroughly uninstall security applications such as antivirus and antispyware from your computer.” I ran it on my computer and it found all the major security apps I had nearly – cool I thought I’d blog about this and add a few removers myself – great.

THEN I saw this great article from RaymondCC – comprehensive list of uninstallers or removal tools for antivirus software – bum.

More googling though and here’s my own list:

Another tool that may help is revo a freeware uninstaller that can clean up registry entries and leftover files after using a programs own uninstaller.

Your product not listed? Think of any others I’m missing – please let me know in the comments :)
