Boclean has been installed on my computers ever since it was acquired by Comodo. It was designed to catch trojans and could be run alongside conventional antivirus software to provide a more layered approach to security.
Unfortunately it is to be absorbed into Comodo’s all in one security suite – which I’m not sure I’d recommend at the moment – although it is free.
This is a shame as it was a nice extra layer of protection and losing it will be a problem for many on low spec machines that used it because of it’s low resource use.
An alternate to consider and one I would personally recommend is Pctools Threatfire. This can also augment your current av by adding behaviour based detection of malware. Oh – it is also free!
