Boclean Standalone to be Discontinued say Comodo

Boclean comodo Boclean has been installed on my computers ever since it was acquired by Comodo. It was designed to catch trojans and  could be run alongside conventional antivirus software to provide a more layered approach to security.

Unfortunately it is to be absorbed into Comodo’s all in one security suite – which I’m not sure I’d recommend at the moment – although it is free.

This is a shame as it was a nice extra layer of protection and losing it will be a problem for many on low spec machines that used it because of it’s low resource use.

An alternate to consider and one I would personally recommend is Pctools Threatfire. This can also augment your current av by adding behaviour based detection of malware. Oh – it is also free!
