There’s nothing more annoying than when you’re happily installing a program or working on something you haven’t saved and you get a crashed window. Here I’d like to tell you about a couple of programs that may help…..
Click Gone
When a program crashes, rather than saving your work and exiting gracefully (I wish), they sometimes leave behind a crashed window that can’t be closed without a reboot. This program helps in such a situation by terminating that program – even when task manager fails. Click Gone is extremely easy to use, start the program and you get a cross-hair. Using the cross hair left click the window you want to terminate – right click cancels. I’ve found that it effectively and quickly gets rid of most crashed apps after running it for a few months now. On the odd occasion it can’t remove something it’s because the program doesn’t allow termination from other programs – usually a firewall or antivirus software.
Who Crashed?
After a complete system crash or Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) this tool can analyise windows log files and tell you which driver may have caused this.
The following screenshot shows the output of the program and how it may be able to help you pinpoint any driver that is malfunctioning.
Drivers are frequently the cause of unstable systems and it is always a good idea to update to the most recent driver for the hardware you have. This can usually be achieved with a google search or by visiting your manufacturers website.
